My Dad and I made our annual trek to Midway, Utah for the amazing Swiss Day's celebration on Friday. As always it was great people watching and good food and lots and lots of craft vendors. Dad and I get there about 8:00 am, set up our chairs and get a Swiss Day's Scone with either honey and butter or Mountain Berry jam and butter. They are amazing!! After our sugar high we're ready to face the day! My aunt, uncle and cousin met us there and we did our usual sit in the chairs and people watch. Then the girls leave the guys to guard any treasures that have been purchased and we stroll through the crowds and say, "Oh, this is so cute!" about a million times. My friend Mardelle met me there and we pushed our way through the crowds and amazingly didn't spend a ton of money! In fact we didn't buy much at all! But, now that I'm home and thinking about what I may have passed up, I wish I had bought a beautiful gourd from the Primitive Treasures booth. They were amazing! This is a picture from their web site, but it doesn't do justice to what they actually had in their booth! They are from SLC and gave me lots of ideas about how to get all of the gourds I have sitting on my deck cleaned up and turned into birdhouses. Now I may have to venture out of my comfort zone and head to the SLC Farmer's Market and buy one of their beauties!
