Birdhouse Gourds

I finally have a few birdhouse gourds painted and thought I'd show them off!
I'm feeling pretty good about them, probably because of all the time I've spent thinking about them and moving them around the house and yard!

They take a long time and some serious elbow grease to get them cleaned up!
Lots of scrubbing. Drilling the holes is kinda fun and cleaning out the insides is, well, interesting. The insides are seeds and styrofoam stuff. I have to scrape it out with my fingers and shake it a lot.

Then I sprayed them with spray paint, which isn't the most artistic way to paint them, but it works! Maybe later I can get creative and do some wood burning and hand paint something on them.

I think they look pretty cute. I'm selling them for $15 finished. Because there are still so many unfinished, and some people have shown interest in buying them unfinished, I'm selling those for $5. We'll see if anyone wants them. If not, some of you may be getting them for Christmas!

  2. Hello Sally,

I am enjoying reading some of your Blog. (I've thought about starting one.....but I'vd got nothing to say). I was watching your hummingbird video....then suddenly Rita Cooledge started singing! I don't know if that is suppose to happen automatically, but it was nice.

Anyway, the blog looks very great, and is very entertaining. Keep it up.
