Getting Closer!

We had a Baby Shower for Rachel and it was a great time! Lots of friends that we haven't seen forever and cousins from far away (Idaho Falls) came to celebrate with Rachel!
Sarah, Michelle, Alison and I made party favors, food, and spent lots of time and money getting this ready and it was totally worth it! Baby Girl got lots of adorable outfits and blankets and lots of other things that she (or her parents) will need. We're only a few weeks away from actually meeting her and we're so excited!! Here are a couple of photos from the shower...

I crocheted around a blanket for her while Gene and I traveled to the Smith Family Reunion a few weeks ago. I only had the blanket finished for the shower. Today, I finished one of the burp diapers and I have one more to go. But I thought I'd show a photo of the edge I crocheted because I sort of made it up while on the trip. There is probably one similar or maybe even exactly like it in every beginning crochet book, but I didn't have one to help me and I needed something different! I thought it turned out pretty cute and I loved the monkeys! I liked them so much I bought two sock monkeys to go with them! I've already given them to Rachel or I'd have a photo of them too. One is a gift card holder from Barnes and Noble. It's really small and is red and white striped. The other I bought at Heindselman's on Center Street in Provo. It is bright colors and really cute. Definitely worth buying and not making my own (if you're around Provo drive by and check out the window display)!

These little monkeys look like how I feel! EXCITED!

  1. Thanks for sharing this post on Facebook. I thought I'd added your blog to my reader, but after I saw it on FB and not on Google I realized I hadn't. I've missed out on all these fun posts- I especially like the Bread Head. Very creative!
